HP TX1000 Blank Screen / NVIDIA Grapphics Heat Issue fix
Have you purchased a HP TX-#### Series laptop that has got a blank screen shortly after the warrenty expires.
Well the problem is to do with a NVIDIA chip that over heats, that de-solders it self when the laptop reaches tempratures of 80 degrees or more.
Here is the solution to fix the laptop:

Also rather than using the copper sheets as used here, use copper shims you can readily purchase of ebay for little money.#
In my personal laptop is the Hp Tx1250ea. A laptop is not available in Greece.
Has 12.1 inch touch screen and features among other things: fingerprint reader, Light Scribe, 4Gb ram, stereo microphone, remote control, bluetooth, removable cd-rom and many other goodies.
What to do but to cook when I open; Temperatures are on hold for 65 processors and 85 for the graphics card. Admittedly the push temperatures reach 75 and 100 respectively! Apart from the extreme heat, such temperatures can destroy it altogether.
So I decided to open it and see whether the situation improves ..
The first step was to find the driver assembly from the site of Hewlett-Packard

Inside the PC dominated the dust which I removed, but I was not there.
The heatsink and anemistiraki there, they take the heat from two large chips (processor and graphics card) to the outside.

I bought the best Thermal paste I found the Artic Silver 5 (4.5 € 3.5-g).
I found a piece of pure copper from a friend online, and I cut a piece slightly larger than the size of the graphics card. This will be placed between a chip and heatsink to the tangential and 2 processors on the heatsink.
To remove the black paint from a brush used Acetone and an old toothbrush. After half an hour brush shined!
Moreover rubbed with ntoukocharto (heavily grit) the surface of the brush and the head of the graphics card processor (very carefully). The reason is to make everything smooth and level to allow maximum heat extraction from the processor to the environment.
Next step was to put the processors Thermal paste.
Then add the piece of copper onto the chip of nVidia and stretched the Artic Silver 5 on top.
Finally I put the brush polished and assembled the laptop.
here shows the difference of the two chips, that is why I put a piece of copper in one, to “grow” and leans more to the heatsink.

After surgery
Once relieved that everything worked properly, I took temperature measurements with the program Hardware Monitor CpuId.com. The results were amazing!
Temperature Editor:
Before: 65 to 75
After: 1928 to 1941
Temperature graphics card:
Before: 80-100
After: 55-75

Now I have the laptop on my legs without burning!
Materials I needed:
- Acetone, from a supermarket.
- Ntoukocharto 2000 from a nearby shop with paint and hardware.
- Thermal paste Artic Silver 5, a store computer.
- A section of copper 1 × 1 (cm), from a dear friend.
- Rubber gloves to avoid touching acetone, pastries and chips. From the pharmacy.
